Book Report-PIE The title of this story, PIE, is relevant to the topic of the story itself because this story revolves around pie and also is the title of the famous pie shop owned by Polly Portman. The main audience for this book are those who are struggling with friendships, have a close relative that passed, or enjoys reading a good mystery story. [state perspective] Some of the main issues discussed in this story are when Polly Portman dies, leaving her dearest niece Alice in distress. Also, a determined individual is resolute to find the legendary piecrust recipe that belonged to Aunt Polly as Alice desperately tries to find the recipe to happiness. The main idea throughout the story is that everyone always wants and needs family, friendship, and sometimes, pie. PIE was published in year 2011. Sarah Weeks has been writing children’s books and songs for about twenty years. The book begins when Polly Portman, a famous pie maker, passed away. In her will, she left the secret piecrust recipe to her Lardo, and she left her white cat, also named Lardo, to her niece, Alice. Furthermore, there is a person, possibly a pie maker, who is persistent to find the perfect piecrust recipe.
